Kwankwaso Offer to Take Care of Atiku if he Quits the 2027 Race

Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso has called on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to withdraw from the 2027 presidential race, citing his age and health.

Kwankwaso made the appeal while receiving members of the Fulani Farmers Association at his residence in Abuja.

He urged Atiku’s supporters to encourage the former vice president, who is seeking the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), to step aside and concentrate on his traditional role as the Waziri of Adamawa.

“Go to the Waziri of Adamawa’s house and tell him in Fulani that he needs to focus on his traditional title of Waziri, given his age and health,” Kwankwaso said.

He further assured Atiku that he would be taken care of if their political camp succeeds in 2027, adding that an apology should be offered to him.

Kwankwaso’s comments come months after Atiku acknowledged that the 2027 presidential election could be his final attempt at securing Nigeria’s presidency.

Asked previously whether turning 80 by 2027 would increase the stakes, Atiku responded that it would, describing the election as potentially his “last outing.”
