Dangote Says Male Heir Not a Priority, Backs Daughters to Lead Business

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has said having a male heir to take over his business empire is not a priority, expressing confidence in the ability of his three daughters to continue his legacy.

The 69-year-old businessman made the remarks during an interview with ARISE News, where he was asked about traditional expectations surrounding male heirs, particularly in his home state of Kano.

Dangote said he believes his daughters Halima, Fatima and Mariya are capable of taking the business forward, adding that having a son would not necessarily guarantee a stronger legacy.

He also said he could see one of his daughters eventually leading the Dangote Group, noting that all three are highly interested in the family business and have shown the potential to take it to greater heights.
