Nollywood actor and Lagos lawmaker Desmond Elliot has apologised to his political mentor, Femi Gbajabiamila, following tensions linked to recent political developments in Lagos.
In a video shared online, Elliot was seen apologising to Gbajabiamila, who is the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu. The two have been politically aligned for years.
The apology comes after disagreements over Elliot’s bid for a fourth term representing Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly. Gbajabiamila had backed Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, who defeated Elliot in the APC primary held in May.
Elliot had earlier withdrawn from the primary, alleging intimidation and exclusion of his supporters. He later lost the party’s ticket to Odunuga-Bakare.
